President's Message

Valued members of our tennis community and dear tennis enthusiasts,

On November 11, 2024, during the 6th Ordinary General Assembly of the Turkish Tennis Federation, we assumed responsibility for governing Turkish tennis. Following our appointment, we promptly started efforts to develop tennis in our country. In the new term of the Turkish Tennis Federation, we aim to implement a comprehensive transformation in Turkish tennis, which holds great potential. One of our top priorities is to increase the brand value of Turkish tennis and to establish a Turkish tennis identity through our strategic plan, the “Turkish Tennis Initiative.” This plan is guided by the vision of “Tennis for All.” To determine our roadmap, we organized the Turkish Tennis Initiative Workshop in December 2024, with the participation of all our stakeholders. During this workshop, we assessed the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats facing the tennis sector in our country. All these efforts are being carried out to elevate Turkish tennis globally and position it as a major player in the international tennis arena, supported by the collective success of its stakeholders.

As the country with the youngest population in Europe, Türkiye has immense potential in sports. Turkish tennis has experienced significant momentum in recent years. This growth has been rapidly increasing with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, through collaborative efforts with local administrations and valuable contributions from sponsors. The growth of our tennis community has reached a significant milestone with the inclusion of wheelchair tennis. As of February 2025, the addition of padel and pickleball will further strengthen Turkish tennis and extend its appeal to a wider audience.

We are entering a new phase, focusing all our efforts on building a sustainable future for Turkish tennis. In the upcoming year, we will continue our work with determination and perseverance, in close collaboration with all tennis community stakeholders to achieve our goals.

Through the projects we have laid the foundation for, we aim to expand tennis nationwide and increase awareness. With this understanding, in February 2025, we signed an important collaboration agreement with the Ministry of National Education to foster a passion for tennis among primary and secondary school students and to develop a strong sports culture. Under this protocol, we plan to reach 180,000 students across 81 provinces. We believe that our projects will create significant opportunities for the widespread adoption of tennis, and these efforts will continue with the support of our stakeholders.

On the other hand, many brands that view investment in tennis as "an investment in the future of the country" are taking swift action in sponsorship activities and collaborations. In line with the realization of the Turkey Tennis Initiative which includes the branding of Turkish tennis, we aim to leverage innovative financial methods. Under the branding strategy for Turkish tennis, a system will be created to expand the player pool and enable our clubs- key stakeholders in the development of our athletes- to provide the necessary resources, sustain their operations, and enhance areas such as senior and recreational tennis. This system will also focus on building a cohesive network of widespread tournaments, encouraging tennis tourism, implementing good governance and merit-based management practices, ensuring access to adequate facilities and qualified technical staff, spreading tennis to a broader audience, and nurturing Olympic-level athletes. Another objective is to establish an accountable and transparent system, coupled with a federation model supported by both internal and external audits.

The year 2025 started with significant accomplishments. The Men's National team achieved a remarkable 5-0 victory against Mexico in the Davis Cup. Additionally, our 16 and Under Men's National Team secured 5th place in the European Championships, while both our 14 and Under Women's and Men's National Teams finished in 6th place in their respective European Championships.2025 will mark a significant milestone for Turkish tennis, and we aim to lay the foundations for the future of the sport this year. We would like to express our gratitude to all the athletes, clubs, coaches, referees, guardians, and sponsors contributing to this journey.
