Congratulatory Message from Minister Bak for the National Women's Tennis Team


Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Osman Aşkın Bak issued a congratulatory message to the National Women’s Tennis Team for their success in advancing to the World Group Play-offs at the Billie Jean King Cup, the premier international team competition in women’s tennis, held in Lithuania.

Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Osman Aşkın Bak issued a congratulatory message to the National Women’s Tennis Team, which defeated Hungary in the Billie Jean King Cup Europe/Africa Group I, held in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, and qualified to compete in the Billie Jean King Cup World Group Play-offs for the first time in our history.

Minister Bak shared the following remarks in his message of congratulations:

“I would like to congratulate our National Women's Tennis Team for achieving a historic success at the Billie Jean King Cup in Lithuania, the world's largest international team sports tournament in women's tennis, and qualifying to play in the World Group Play-Off for the first time.

I extend my gratitude to our Tennis Federation and our esteemed tennis community, especially our athletes and coaches, who contributed to the success of our National Team. I wish the best of luck to our National Women’s Tennis Team, consisting of Çağla Büyükakçay, Zeynep Sönmez, İpek Öz, Ayla Aksu, and Deniz Dilek, as they compete in the Play-offs in November for a place in the World Group.
