Türkiye Women’s National Wheelchair Tennis Team Defeats Lithuania 2-1


The BNP Paribas Wheelchair Tennis World Team Cup European Qualifiers, hosted by Ali Bey Club Manavgat from 19 to 23 March 2025, kicked off with the opening matches today. The event features 60 athletes representing 21 teams from 15 countries. On the opening day, Türkiye Women’s National Wheelchair Tennis Team faced Lithuania.

In the first singles match of the tie, Kotryna Zizmaraite defeated Çiğdem Sayın 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 to give Lithuania a 1-0 lead. In the second singles match, Zeliha Aksak responded with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Agneska Tolocko, leveling the score at 1-1. In the deciding doubles match, Zeliha Aksak and Ebru Sulak secured a 6-2, 6-1 victory against Tolocko and Zizmaraite, sealing a 2-1 win for Türkiye. The team, coached by Canan Pulat and captained by Sinem Alptekin Oğuz, features Zeliha Aksak, Ebru Sulak, Çiğdem Sayın, and Elfida Algit. Competing in a group alongside Lithuania, Switzerland, Sweden, and Austria, Türkiye will face Austria tomorrow, with matches set to begin at 10:00 a.m.

The top team in each group will qualify for the Wheelchair World Team Cup Finals.
