Strategic Cooperation from QNB Türkiye and the Turkish Tennis Federation for the Future of Padel

14 May 2026

Strategic Cooperation from QNB Türkiye and the Turkish Tennis Federation for the Future of Padel

In line with its approach to generating long-term value in areas that contribute to social development and its belief in the unifying power of sports, QNB Türkiye has signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement with the Turkish Tennis Federation (TTF). Within the scope of the agreement, the "Turkish Tennis Federation & QNB Padel Main Sponsorship" launch was held on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at QNB Türkiye Kristal Kule. The details of the cooperation and goals for the future of the discipline were shared with the public at the launch meeting, which was organized with the participation of Turkish Tennis Federation President Ms. Şafak Müderrisgil, QNB Türkiye General Manager Ömür Tan, and Padel National Team athletes Berceste Şeber and Sarp Ağabigün. Following the press conference, exhibition matches featuring the duos of Berceste Şeber – Cem İlkel and Sarp Ağabigün – İpek Birol were played on the QNB Türkiye padel court with the participation of QNB Türkiye General Manager Ömür Tan.

With this new strategic partnership, QNB Türkiye and the Turkish Tennis Federation aim to increase the awareness of padel in Türkiye, strengthen its infrastructure, and build a sustainable sports ecosystem that will popularize the branch among large audiences.

Ms. Şafak Müderrisgil: “We position 2026 as a year where the padel infrastructure is structured and institutionally strengthened in Türkiye”

Evaluating the partnership during the launch, Turkish Tennis Federation President Ms. Şafak Müderrisgil expressed the following:

"As the Turkish Tennis Federation, we attach great importance to evaluating sports development not merely by the number of organizations, but through sustainable collaborations, robust infrastructure investments, and long-term visions. This cooperation we have brought to life with QNB Türkiye is more than just a sponsorship agreement; it is a strategic partnership that aims to shape the future of padel in Türkiye together.

Padel is attracting more attention every day as one of the fastest-growing sports disciplines in the world. As the Turkish Tennis Federation, we are taking significant steps to ensure this rising branch develops within a healthy, sustainable, and strong structure in our country. We believe that QNB Türkiye plays an exemplary role in this process—not just as a supporting brand, but with an approach that integrates sports culture into its corporate structure. Constructing a padel court at their Headquarters building and establishing a padel team comprised of their employees stands as a highly valuable indicator of their perspective on sports and their long-term approach.

We position 2026 as a year where the padel infrastructure is structured and institutionally strengthened in Türkiye. Within the scope of the restructuring process that began in 2025, we have established the administrative and legal infrastructure of the branch, became a member of the International Padel Federation (FIP), and determined our roadmap for the development of the discipline. With the assistant coach training courses and candidate umpire courses we organized in April, we took major steps toward strengthening our technical human resources. Our coach training sessions and candidate umpire training sessions will continue throughout 2026.

During the same period, while forming our national team setup through the Padel National Team Selection Tournament—which we organized for the first time—we passed an important milestone toward establishing a more institutional structure for padel in Türkiye. Starting from June, we will host 3 FIP Bronze tournaments as part of our international activities. In addition, the QNB Türkiye Padel League matches, the QNB Türkiye Padel League Finals, and subsequently the QNB Türkiye Padel Cup have entered our activity calendar; our goal is to build a sustainable and competitive structure.

We find this cooperation we have carried out on a roadmap extending from education to league and cup competitions, and from infrastructure to international representation together with QNB Türkiye, to be exceptionally valuable."

Ömür Tan: “We view this step we take today as a long-term investment in the infrastructure, sustainable growth, and future of padel in Türkiye.”

Touching upon the importance of the cooperation in his opening speech at the launch, QNB Türkiye General Manager Ömür Tan stated:

"As QNB Türkiye, we are delighted to become the Padel Main Sponsor within the scope of this cooperation we have realized with the Turkish Tennis Federation.

Padel is a sport that stands out for its social aspect, strong community culture, and a structure that brings different age groups together. We view this step we take today as a long-term investment in the infrastructure, sustainable growth, and future of padel in Türkiye.

Our goal is to contribute to padel gaining a strong and sustainable ecosystem in Türkiye. For this reason, our support encompasses many areas critical to the development of the sport. Throughout 2026, we will implement a wide roadmap together with the Turkish Tennis Federation, ranging from league and cup organizations to training programs, and from international tournaments to coach and umpire development.

On the other hand, we do not view padel merely as a sports field we support, but also as a part of our corporate culture. In line with this approach, we constructed a padel court at our Headquarters building. With the intense interest and ownership of our employees, we also established a padel team within our bank. We believe that carrying the dynamism, team spirit, and social interaction created by padel into our in-house culture is uniquely valuable for us. I wholeheartedly believe that this journey we have embarked upon with the Turkish Tennis Federation will contribute to padel reaching much wider audiences in the coming years."

Padel National Team athlete Sarp Ağabigün pointed out that padel is a social and dynamic sport growing rapidly both across the world and in Türkiye, expressing his belief that the discipline will reach wider audiences through the cooperation between the Turkish Tennis Federation and QNB Türkiye. Stating that he is proud to take part in the padel national team following his former identity as a national tennis player, Ağabigün thanked QNB Türkiye and the Turkish Tennis Federation for supporting the development of padel.

Padel National Team athlete Berceste Şeber expressed that being a part of Türkiye's first padel national team roster is highly special and meaningful for her, noting that this process will be remembered as an important starting point for Turkish padel in the years to come. Stating that the women's national team consists of a highly dynamic, passionate, and excited group, Şeber emphasized that padel is gaining more interest every day in Türkiye, new courts are opening in different cities, and new athletes will begin to grow from the grassroots level. Şeber also added that a highly valuable period has begun for the development of padel along with the Turkish Tennis Federation and QNB Türkiye cooperation.

Technical Staff and Qualified Growth are Primary Goals

One of the core pillars of the cooperation involves growing padel in Türkiye in a sustainable and permanent manner. Accordingly, coach and umpire training sessions have been identified as the most critical steps of the project. Professionalizing the technical staff for the qualified development of padel will be supported as a priority in this process.

Uninterrupted Padel Excitement Throughout the Year

Under the comprehensive program to be implemented to popularize padel, the QNB Türkiye Padel League matches, the QNB Türkiye Padel League Finals, and subsequently the QNB Türkiye Padel Cup will be organized. Furthermore, to increase the international representation of the branch, Türkiye will host 3 FIP Bronze tournaments in 2026.

Throughout this process, QNB Türkiye will continue to provide support for establishing a structure that touches every area of padel, from athlete development to organization quality, and from international visibility to infrastructure investments.
