Information Regarding the Cancellation of International Tournaments

We would like to inform the tennis public regarding the recent developments concerning the cancellation of certain international tennis tournaments planned to be held in Türkiye.

The Turkish Tennis Federation has been officially notified by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and Tennis Europe that, based on assessments made by the ITF Security Advisor and in accordance with Article 5.A(d) of the ITF WTT Juniors Regulations, several tournaments scheduled to take place in Türkiye during March and April 2026 have been canceled.

These decisions were conveyed to our Federation on different dates and in stages. Throughout this process, the Turkish Tennis Federation has remained in close contact with all relevant stakeholders.

We wish to specifically emphasize that there are no official restrictions or bans preventing the organization of international sports events in Türkiye. Thanks to its strong organizational infrastructure and experience, our country continues to host international sports activities.

Nevertheless, these decisions have had certain impacts on our athletes' international competition opportunities and the planning of our clubs.

As the Turkish Tennis Federation, while we acknowledge that these decisions were taken by the ITF and TE with the welfare of the athletes in mind, we have been maintaining our communication with the ITF and TE since the cancellations began on March 2, 2026. In this context, our efforts to create alternative organizational opportunities and different competition prospects to replace the canceled tournaments are ongoing. Developments regarding this process will be shared with the public as they are finalized.

The Turkish Tennis Federation is monitoring the process closely and maintains its determination to take all necessary steps.
