Tennis Europe Excellence in Development Award Goes to the Turkish Tennis Federation
The Turkish Tennis Federation (TTF) was honored with a prestigious award during the award session of the Tennis Europe Annual General General Assembly, held in Gdansk, Poland, between March 19–21, 2026.
At the ceremony held on March 20, 2026, the award was presented to the President of the Turkish Tennis Federation, Ms. Şafak Müderrisgil, by the President of the International Tennis Federation, David Haggerty, and the President of Tennis Europe, Henrik Thorsøe Dahl. Ms. Esra Hatipoğlu, TTF Board Member, also attended the General Assembly representing the federation alongside Ms. Müderrisgil.
International Organizational Strength Crowned with an Award
The Turkish Tennis Federation stood out throughout 2025 for the intensive organizational responsibility it undertook within the international tennis calendar and the extensive competitive environment it provided for different age and category groups. This comprehensive structure, spread across the entire year, strongly demonstrated Türkiye’s tennis organizational capacity and sustainable development vision at an international level. In line with this extensive and successful organizational performance, the Federation was deemed worthy of the Tennis Europe Excellence in Development Award.
Featured Organizations
Within the scope of the Federation's activities:
A total of 76 professional events, starting from ITF World Tennis Tour 15K tournaments and including one ATP Challenger and four WTA 125 tournaments,
18 ITF World Tennis Tour Junior tournaments, contributing to young athletes gaining international experience,
29 Tennis Europe organizations, including Winter and Summer Cups,
33 ITF Masters Tour events, including the European Club Championships, were successfully organized.
This large-scale organizational calendar demonstrates that the Turkish Tennis Federation plays an active role in all stages of the sport—from grassroots to the masters category—while reinforcing its strong position within the international tennis community.
