Türkiye Won the Slovenia Tie 3-1

In the Davis Cup Türkiye-Slovenia World Group I Play-Off tie that took place on February 6-7 at Bela dvorana Velenje in Velenje, Slovenia, our Senior Men's National Team defeated Slovenia 3-1 and advanced to World Group I.

The Crescent-Stars had finished the first day against Slovenia with a 2-0 lead following the victories of Mert Alkaya and Yankı Erel. In the third match of the tie, the duo of Ergi Kırkın and Yankı Erel defeated the pair of Filip Jeff Planinsek and Ziga Sesko 7-6, 6-3, achieving the victory that carried Türkiye to the Davis Cup World Group I.

In the fourth match of the tie, our 16-year-old athlete Kaan Işık Koşaner took the court. Playing his first Davis Cup match in the Slovenia tie, Kaan Işık Koşaner was defeated by Filip Jeff Planinsek 6-7, 6-1, 10-4. With this result, the final winner of the tie was Türkiye 3-1.

Our Senior Men's National Team will compete in the Davis Cup World Group I in September.
