Türkiye Started the Slovenia Tie with a 2-0 Victory

In the Davis Cup Türkiye-Slovenia World Group I Play-Off tie taking place on February 6-7 at Bela dvorana Velenje in Velenje, Slovenia, our Senior Men's National Team completed the first day with a 2-0 victory.

In the first match of the tie, Mert Alkaya, who played his first match in the Davis Cup, also achieved his first victory. Mert defeated Sebastian Dominko 7-5, 7-6, carrying Türkiye to a 1-0 lead. The second match witnessed the battle between Yankı Erel and Bor Artnak. In the match that lasted 1 hour and 47 minutes, Yankı Erel defeated Artnak with a score of 7-6, 6-1, bringing the score in the tie to 2-0.

Closing the first day with victories, the Crescent-Stars will take the court for the doubles match tomorrow at 13:00 TRT. The team that achieves 3 victories in the 5-match tie will advance to World Group I.

National Team Squad
The roster of our Senior Men's National Team, captained by Erhan Oral, includes Mert Alkaya, Yankı Erel, Ergi Kırkın, Kerem Yılmaz, and Kaan Işık Koşaner. Fatih Taha Erün undertakes the coaching of our national team, Cemal Şahin Ünal the fitness coaching, and Sercan Yıllı the physiotherapy.
