TTF Management and Tennis 4 All Project Team Visited Anıtkabir
Turkish Tennis Federation President Ms. Şafak Müderrisgil, TTF Board Members, TTF staff, and the Tennis 4 All project team paid a visit of respect to Anıtkabir, the eternal resting place of the founder of our Republic, the Great Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, prior to the “Tennis 4 All Project Opening Meeting.”
The delegation visiting Anıtkabir included TTF President Ms. Şafak Müderrisgil, TTF Secretary General Ms. Şeniz Parlakkılıç Büyükakgül, members of the TTF Central Referee Board, Technical Board, and Education Board, TTF staff, and project partners from “Dunărea de Jos” University (Romania), Sakarya University of Applied Sciences, and INNETICA (Spain).
After TTF President Ms. Şafak Müderrisgil laid a wreath at the mausoleum, a moment of silence was observed. Following the moment of silence, President Ms. Müderrisgil proceeded to the Misak-ı Millî Tower and signed the Anıtkabir Special Book.
Ms. Müderrisgil wrote the following in the book:
“Great Atatürk,
Founder of our Republic, leader of our struggle for independence,
With your vision that takes reason and science as a guide, you left us not only a state but also a society that thinks, produces, and walks toward the future with confidence. Your view of sports as one of the fundamental elements for the physical and spiritual strengthening of this society continues to guide all the work we carry out today.
As the Turkish Tennis Federation, we base our work on your understanding that sports gain meaning not only through physical success but also through intelligence, agility, and a strong moral stance. Adopting this approach as a guiding principle in our work, we consider transferring tennis to our youth with the values of discipline, sportsmanship, and respect as one of our most important responsibilities.
Today, we are in your presence on the occasion of the commencement of the 'TENNIS 4 ALL – Developing Inclusive and Sustainable Tennis in Europe' project, supported by the European Union Erasmus+ Sports Program and coordinated by Türkiye. With this project, while ensuring equal access to sports for individuals with disabilities, disadvantaged youth, and all segments of society, we also aim to develop Turkish sports in harmony with the requirements of the age in the fields of digitalization and environmental sustainability.
This work, which we are carrying out together with our stakeholders from Europe, represents a sports understanding that centers on people, produces value, and looks to the future with responsibility, not just sporting success. This understanding is the reflection today of the vision you put forth while building the Republic.
We promise once again in your presence:
Remaining loyal to the fundamental values of our Republic, we will continue to work with all our strength to carry Turkish tennis and Turkish sports to a brighter future. We will continue to teach our youth not only how to play sports but also truth, justice, respect, and morality.
May your soul rest in peace.
With gratitude, respect, and longing…”
