Türkiye Tennis League Finals Have Begun
One of the most prestigious organizations of Turkish tennis
at the club level, the Türkiye Tennis League Finals, began with a press
conference held at Taç Spor Club with the participation of Turkish Tennis
Federation (TTF) President Ms. Şafak Müderrisgil and Taçspor Club President Mr.
Ali Polat Bengiserp.
The finals, in which 128 athletes from a total of 27 teams
in the women's and men's categories will compete, are taking place at Istanbul
Taç Spor Club between December 15–21, 2025. The organization will offer a
high-level sports feast to tennis lovers with the final matches to be played on
the weekend.
Taçspor Club President Mr. Ali Polat Bengiserp emphasized in
his speech that they have attached strategic importance to tennis as a club for
a long time, stating, “We underwent a significant transformation starting from
last year to create a more competitive structure. We are very proud to host the
Türkiye Tennis League Finals for two consecutive years. I believe it will be a
very enjoyable tennis week for athletes and spectators.”
“The Türkiye Tennis League is not just a championship; it is
a structure that guides the development of tennis in our country and centers on
clubs.”
Turkish Tennis Federation President Ms. Şafak Müderrisgil
stated that the Türkiye Tennis League is not merely a championship but a
strategic structure that guides the development of Turkish tennis and centers
on the clubs. Ms. Müderrisgil emphasized that the participation of clubs from
all corners of Türkiye in the league carries great importance in terms of
spreading tennis to the grassroots and creating a sustainable sports culture.
Stating that the Federation provides infrastructure and
transportation support to the teams and that the athletes ranking in the finals
will also win financial prizes, Ms. Müderrisgil underlined the contributions
provided by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, ranging from facility
construction to athlete development, and conveyed her thanks.
“As of 2026, we are adding the Development League to the
Türkiye Tennis League.”
Drawing attention to the inclusive and sustainable structure
of the Türkiye Tennis League in her speech, President Ms. Müderrisgil stated
that they are on the verge of a significant transformation process in the
league system. In this context, she announced that the “Development League”
will be included within the body of the Türkiye Tennis League as of 2026.
Emphasizing that an important structural transformation
process has been entered for the Türkiye Tennis League, President Ms.
Müderrisgil made the following explanations:
“Until now, our league structure consisted of two basic
systems: the 18 & Under Team Championship and the Türkiye Tennis League for
ages over 14. However, there was a gap that prevented our athletes, especially
in the 12–14 age range, from being involved in inter-club competition in a
regular and systematic manner. To respond to this need, we are adding the
Development League to the Türkiye Tennis League as of 2026.
The Development League will be a very important structural
step that ensures young athletes participate in the right competitive
environment at the right age, strengthens the infrastructure and development
processes of our clubs, and aims to build the long-term strength of Turkish
tennis.
With this new league, the Türkiye Tennis League will be
spread throughout the year to cover younger age groups, our clubs will raise
their athletes with team consciousness from early ages, the competition level
and sporting quality will rise at every stage, and the discovery of new talents
will be placed on a much more systematic foundation.”
Ms. Müderrisgil also emphasized that the support İş Bankası
will provide as the main sponsor as of 2026 is of great importance for the
sustainability of the Development League and the Türkiye Tennis League, and
expressed her gratitude for the trust placed in Turkish tennis.
Within the scope of the Türkiye Tennis League Finals, the
Women's Final will be played on Saturday, December 20, and the Men's Final will
be played on Sunday, December 21, at 10:00, and will be broadcast live on TRT
Spor Yıldız.
