Our Senior National Women's Team Defeated 2-1 by Belgium

On the second day of the Billie Jean King Cup Play-Offs matches held at Tennis Club Ismaning in Munich, Germany, between November 14-16, 2025, our Senior National Women's Team faced Belgium. The Crescent-Stars were defeated 2-1 by Belgium.

Competing in the Billie Jean King Cup Play-Offs group for the first time, our nationals had started the group by defeating the host Germany 2-1 in their first match.

In the first match of the Belgium series on the second day, Ms. Ayla Aksu faced Ms. Sofia Costoulas. Defeating Ms. Sofia Costoulas, ranked 149th, 6-3, 6-1, world number 403 Ms. Ayla Aksu put Türkiye ahead 1-0 in the series.

In the second match of the series, Ms. Zeynep Sönmez and Ms. Hanne Vandewinkel took the court. Ms. Zeynep Sönmez lost to Ms. Hanne Vandewinkel 6-4, 6-4, and the score in the series became 1-1.

In the series that went to a deciding match, the pair of Ms. Ayla Aksu/Ms. İpek Öz was defeated by the duo of Ms. Sofia Costoulas/Ms. Magali Kempen 4-6, 7-6, 7-6 in a battle lasting 1 hour and 41 minutes, and Belgium won the series 2-1.

As a result of the Germany-Belgium match to be held on Sunday, November 16, the team advancing to the Qualifiers from Group F, which includes our nationals, will be determined.
