Our 16 & Under Boys' National Team is Writing History in Chile

Our 16 & Under Boys' National Team has inscribed its name in the semi-finals by defeating South Korea 2-1 in the Junior Davis Cup Finals, in which we are competing via direct qualification for the first time in our history.

Having successfully completed the European Qualifiers and European Finals and earned the right to participate in the Junior Davis Cup Finals (Youth World Cup Finals) held in Santiago, the capital of Chile, our 16 & Under Boys' National Team defeated South Korea 2-1 in the quarter-finals and advanced to the semi-finals.

Coached by Mr. Umut Alptekin and Mr. Taha Erün, our 16 & Under Boys' National Team consists of Kaan Işık Koşaner, Samim Filiz, and Ziya Aydın Ayberk. Mr. Necdet Kaya serves as our national team's fitness coach.

Having defeated Japan 2-1 and Ecuador 2-1, and having lost to Egypt 2-1 in their group, our nationals faced South Korea in the quarter-finals. In the first match of the series, Samim Filiz was defeated by Wonmin Kim 6-2, 6-4. Taking the court in the second match, Kaan Işık Koşaner defeated Min Hyuk Cho 6-2, 6-1, bringing the score to 1-1.

In the doubles match that would determine the winner of the series, the pair of Kaan Işık Koşaner/Samim Filiz defeated the duo of Dongjae Kim/Wonmin Kim 6-0, 6-2, putting Türkiye ahead 2-1 and securing the first semi-final in our history at the Junior Davis Cup Finals.

Our nationals' opponent in the semi-final, which will take place on Saturday, November 8, will be the United States of America.
