TTF Provincial Representatives Meeting Held in Ankara
The Türkiye Tennis Federation (TTF) Provincial
Representatives Meeting was held in Ankara on November 6, 2025. The meeting,
which addressed the strengthening of the federation's structure at the
provincial level, local athlete development, and the sustainability of the
tennis ecosystem, was attended by TTF President Ms. Şafak Müderrisgil, TTF
Board Member Mr. İsmail Hakkı Kurt, TTF Secretary General Dr. Şeniz Parlakkılıç
Büyükakgül, TTF Technical Board President Mr. Hakan Diler, TTF Central Referee
Board President Dr. Alaaddin Boyar, and TTF Education Board President Prof. Dr.
Osman Mutlu.
“Provincial Representatives Play a Key Role in Spreading
Tennis to the Grassroots”
Delivering the opening speech of the meeting, TTF President
Ms. Şafak Müderrisgil drew attention to the “Türkiye Tennis Move” vision,
initiated to establish the foundations of a sustainable development model in
Turkish tennis.
President Ms. Müderrisgil said, “With the understanding of
'Tennis for All,' we have based our strategic plan on three pillars:
merit-based governance, open and transparent communication, and the realization
of the Türkiye Tennis Move. Our provincial representatives are our federation's
most important power on the field, undertaking a key role in spreading tennis
to the grassroots. We must ask ourselves this question: Do we have an
infrastructure that will carry our athletes to Grand Slams? We are working all
together for the answer to this question.”
Ms. Müderrisgil stated that within the scope of the protocol
signed with the Ministry of National Education, the “Let's Go to Tennis”
project has provided tennis equipment support and training programs for
physical education teachers in 11 provinces affected by the earthquake.
She stated, “We aim to teach and endear tennis to children.
Inspired by the ITF’s ‘Play and Stay’ vision, we aim to ensure that children
who start tennis at a young age remain permanently in the sport. As of 2026, we
will implement this project in 11 more provinces. Our provincial
representatives have a very valuable place in this ecosystem and will play a
key role in the success of the Let's Go to Tennis project.”
Provincial Representatives Will Be the “Local Eyes” of
Tennis
It is planned to expand the job description of provincial
representatives and position them as “local eyes” who provide feedback to the
Central Referee Board (MHK) regarding tournament organizations. This new model
aims to ensure the more effective execution of tennis activities in the
provinces, resolve existing issues such as the unbalanced distribution of the
referee pool, and accelerate the identification of candidates for new referee
courses planned to be opened starting in 2026.
Tennis For All Vision
“Tennis For All,” the fundamental vision of the TTF’s
strategic plan, aims to create a Turkish tennis school and increase the brand
value of the sport. In line with this vision, provincial representatives
undertake a central duty in the popularization of Turkish tennis by assuming a
practitioner, representative, and supervisory role locally.
