The modernized facility makes Istanbul one of the important
centers for international tennis organizations with its strengthened
infrastructure, renewed courts, and living spaces developed for athletes and
tennis lovers.
Within the scope of the works carried out with the support
of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the existing padel courts were renovated,
and a new padel court at international standards was added to the facility.
While the fitness area and restaurant section within the facility were
renovated, the personnel offices, administrative building, and resting areas
were also arranged to meet modern needs. Additionally, a pro shop area was
created, adding a new service point to the facility.
As part of the maintenance work on the courts, the grounds
of the clay courts were completely renewed, and all details, from on-court
equipment to umbrellas, were overhauled. The lower section of the center court
also underwent major renovations to raise comfort standards. Elements such as
the tribunes, curbstones, and viewing terrace were restructured to enhance the
experience of tennis lovers. To ensure users can access tennis courts in a more
organized and easy manner, the Digital Court Reservation System, sponsored by
PFM Sports Technologies Inc., was put into use at the TTF Istanbul Tennis
Training Center as of October 7, 2025.
The TTF Istanbul Tennis Training Center serves on a 25,000
m² area with four match courts—one being the center court—and one training
court. Constructed in accordance with world standards, the facility possesses
the technical infrastructure to host international tournaments as well as the
camp and preparation periods of national athletes. Every detail, from the
100-vehicle parking lot to the social areas planned for players and visitors,
has been meticulously addressed.
Chief of Cabinet to the President, Ambassador Prof. Dr.
Hasan Doğan, included the following statements in his message sent to the
opening ceremony:
“I thank you for your invitation to the opening ceremony of
the Turkish Tennis Federation Istanbul Tennis Center. With the belief that it
will serve to interest new generations in tennis and raise successful athletes,
I wish for the Istanbul Tennis Center to be beneficial, I congratulate you, and
I offer my most sincere greetings and regards to all your guests.”
TTF President Ms. Şafak Müderrisgil: “We want to make
Istanbul an international tennis destination”
Speaking at the opening, Turkish Tennis Federation President
Ms. Şafak Müderrisgil emphasized that the renovated facility is a strategic
step for the future of Turkish tennis:
“As the Federation, in line with our ‘Tennis for All’
vision, we are working to spread tennis to every corner of our country and make
it accessible to everyone. With the ‘Let's Go to Tennis’ project we implemented
in this context, we aimed to teach and endear tennis to primary and secondary
school students in our 81 provinces. Again, with the ‘Tennis Ambassadors’
project we carry out in 81 provinces, we aim to create a tennis culture in our
cities by bringing our citizens together with tennis.
At the same time, we want to brand our cities through
tennis. Regional tournaments such as the Cudi Cup, Zeugma Cup, Zerzevan Cup,
and 19 May Cup have been the first beautiful examples of this. Thanks to these
tournaments, tennis is becoming widespread, and the sporting identity of our
cities is being strengthened.
The TTF Istanbul Tennis Training Center, which we opened
today, is a concrete reflection of this vision. We have redesigned the facility
not just as a sports area, but as an Olympic preparation campus where our
national athletes will be trained and young talents will develop. We offer a
contemporary experience to our athletes and tennis lovers with technological
innovations such as the Digital Court Reservation System.
I would like to thank our Ministry of Youth and Sports, our
Minister Mr. Osman Aşkın Bak, the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Youth and
Sports, and the Spor Toto Organization Presidency for supporting this
comprehensive renovation process.”
Ms. Müderrisgil stated that work continues with
determination to make Istanbul an international center of attraction for
tennis, as a city that will host the 2027 European Games and is a candidate for
the 2026 Olympics.
Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Osman Aşkın Bak: “There is
a strong rise in Turkish tennis”
Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Osman Aşkın Bak stated that
significant momentum has been achieved in Turkish tennis in recent years and
that facility development has played a major role in this progress:
“Significant developments are taking place in Turkish
sports, and one of the most striking of these is the rise of Turkish tennis.
Thousands of tennis courts have been built across Türkiye, and new facilities
are being added. Our tennis is truly rising up. I thank our Tennis Federation
President Ms. Şafak Müderrisgil and her team; tennis has truly received a
woman's touch, and she is doing very good work with her team. We are always by
their side.”
Minister Bak noted that Turkish tennis has spread throughout
the country with the TTF's vision projects, stating:
“Prestigious organizations such as the Presidency Cup are
being held; tournaments like the Cudi Cup in Şırnak, the Zeugma Cup in
Gaziantep, and the Zerzevan Cup in Diyarbakır have now become traditional. The
sounds of rackets are heard all over our country. This picture, where sports
have replaced terror, shows the point Turkish sports have reached.”
Minister Bak also drew attention to the unifying power of
sports, emphasizing that children's access to sports is their priority:
“Sports is a unifying power. We want every child to access
facilities and make sports a way of life. We especially invite our
disadvantaged children in Sarıyer and Beşiktaş here. These children will learn
tennis here and represent our country tomorrow. Very good things are happening
in Turkish tennis, and this facility is one of the most important symbols of
this development.”
Stating that the Istanbul Tennis Training Center will not
just be a facility but also a center where future champions will be raised, Bak
concluded his speech with these words:
“This place will be the heart of Turkish tennis in Istanbul.
World-class tournaments will be held in a calm environment within nature. I am
very happy that this facility has been revitalized. I congratulate the Tennis
Federation and its management; we will continue to support these beautiful
efforts.”
With its new face, the TTF Istanbul Tennis Training Center
is preparing to host many important organizations in the coming period as a
center that accelerates the development of tennis in Türkiye and further
strengthens Istanbul's position on the world tennis map.
