Press Conference Held for the DenizBank 25th Republic Girls International Tennis Tournament

The DenizBank 25th Republic Girls International Tennis Tournament is being hosted by the TED Sports Club between October 26 – November 2, 2025. With a total prize pool of 30,000 dollars, this W35 category organization holds the distinction of being Türkiye's longest-running uninterrupted international indoor women's tennis tournament.

The press conference for the DenizBank 25th Republic Girls International Tennis Tournament was held on Tuesday, October 28, at the TED Sports Club with the participation of Turkish Tennis Federation Board Member Prof. Dr. Esra Hatipoğlu, TED Sports Club President Prof. Dr. Mehmet Tınaz, DenizBank Retail Banking Group Executive Vice President Ms. Ayşenur Hıçkıran, Tournament Director Nihat Ulusoy, and National tennis player Çağla Büyükakçay.

Delivering the opening speech, Tournament Director Nihat Ulusoy said, “In this special week where we celebrate the 102nd anniversary of our Republic, we are experiencing the same enthusiasm on the tennis courts. Our tournament, which we are organizing for the 25th time this year, is not just a sports event; it is a meaningful gathering that reflects the values of our Republic and the power of female athletes. In our tournament, which started on October 26, 51 athletes from different countries are competing. The final matches will be played on November 1 and 2. All matches can be watched free of charge at the TED Sports Club courts. We invite all tennis lovers to share in this excitement. On this occasion, I thank TED Sports Club for sustaining this tournament for 25 years, DenizBank for their support, the TTF, and everyone who contributed. To many more 25 years in the light of our Republic…”

TED Sports Club President Prof. Dr. Mehmet Emin Tınaz remarked on the organization: “We are very proud to have been continuing this meaningful organization, where we bring the values of our Republic together with sports, for 25 years without interruption. Our tournament, which offers an international showcase for young female athletes, both contributes to the development of Turkish tennis and increases our country's international visibility in the field of sports. The Republic Girls Tournament, which has become even stronger this year with the support of DenizBank, is not only a sports event but also a Republic tradition. We wish success to all our athletes who will compete in the tournament and invite all tennis enthusiasts to follow this enthusiastic and meaningful organization closely.”

Turkish Tennis Federation Board Member Prof. Dr. Esra Hatipoğlu stated, “It is a great source of pride for us that this organization, which has turned into a tradition in Turkish tennis history, bears the name of our Republic. The Republic Girls Tournament holds the distinction of being Türkiye's most deep-rooted international indoor women's tennis tournament. We believe that such strong and sustainable organizations become possible through valuable collaborations. We extend our thanks to DenizBank for their support of this tournament, which has become one of the important brands of women's tennis. We believe that such sponsorships are of great importance in terms of tennis gaining a wider sphere of influence in society and contributing to the development journey of our athletes. On behalf of our federation, we express our gratitude to TED Sports Club, which has made significant contributions to the development of Turkish tennis for years, for their hospitality, devoted work, and for hosting this deep-rooted tournament.”

DenizBank Retail Banking Group Executive Vice President Ms. Ayşenur Hıçkıran said in her assessment, “As DenizBank, we view the economic and social empowerment of women and their active contribution to every area of life as our corporate responsibility. In addition to our banking products, we direct the resources we secure from abroad to areas that will support their stronger participation in production and business life. It is equally important for us that women show their presence in sports, which we see as one of the fundamental elements of social development. In recent years, we have proudly followed the achievements of our female tennis players in the national and international arenas. As the main supporter of the Republic Girls International Tennis Tournament, we are very happy to contribute to both the development of tennis in our country and the empowerment of women through sports.”

Sharing her views at the press conference, National tennis player Çağla Büyükakçay said, “I am proud to be here today as a Turkish woman. We are once again embracing our Republic with great enthusiasm. I took part in this tournament as an athlete many years ago. It is very meaningful for me to take part in this tournament again today. I would like to thank TED Sports Club wholeheartedly for bringing this special organization to life. I would also like to especially thank DenizBank for giving great support to such a deep-rooted tournament. As female athletes, we are at a very good point now. The level of our tennis is more than suitable for organizing W125 level tournaments. However, the support of sponsors is very important for this to be sustainable. I believe that we will continue to celebrate this enthusiasm together in the coming years. I still dream of a Turkish girl becoming the champion in this tournament. And frankly, I want to experience this success myself one day. I invite you all to watch the matches and support our athletes.”

The DenizBank 25th Republic Girls International Tennis Tournament, which will be hosted by TED Sports Club, can be watched free of charge by sports fans.
