Turkish Tennis Federation President Ms. Şafak Müderrisgil:
"The International Samsun Open WTA 125 Tournament, by
hosting elite tennis players from 26 different countries in Samsun, both
strengthens our city's identity as a sports hub and contributes to the rise of
Turkish tennis on the international stage. Beyond the matches on the courts,
this event will boost Samsun's brand value and give significant momentum to
sports tourism. Furthermore, the decision to donate the semi-final and final
ticket revenues to the Mehmetçik Foundation adds a meaningful dimension to the
tournament, as the unifying spirit of sport meets social responsibility. The
fact that our Turkish tennis players are competing in the main draw and
qualifying rounds is a source of great pride for us. As the Türkiye Tennis
Federation, our vision is to expand tennis across the country, provide more
opportunities for our youth, and pave the way for international success. The
Samsun Open WTA 125 is a concrete example of this vision and is making its mark
in history. On this occasion, I would like to thank the Samsun Governorship,
Samsun Metropolitan Municipality, and the Green Golf and Tennis Club for their
valuable contributions."
Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Halit Doğan stated
that the International Samsun Open WTA 125 Tennis Tournament holds great
importance for Samsun's sports vision. Doğan expressed that the tournament,
with 50 athletes from 26 countries, will show the whole world that Samsun is a
sports city, adding, "This organization will enhance our city's brand
value and be an inspiration to our youth." Emphasizing that female
athletes deserve praise for their courage and success, Doğan also drew attention
to the tournament's social responsibility aspect.

having a great time in Samsun and invited all sports fans to the matches.
National tennis player İpek Öz highlighted that this is the 4th WTA tournament
held in Türkiye, stating, "The other three were held in Antalya. These
tournaments are very important for us Turkish tennis players because they give
us a chance to move up in the rankings. Karolina has risen to number 1 in the
world. She is an example to many children here. There will surely be those who
want to start playing tennis after watching her."
