Cooperation Protocol Signed Between Turkish and Ukrainian Tennis Federations

The Turkish Tennis Federation (TTF) and the Ukrainian Tennis Federation (UTF) have signed a comprehensive cooperation protocol to support the sustainable development of the sport of tennis. The protocol was signed on Monday, September 15th, at the TTF Istanbul Tennis Center in Istanbul by the President of the Turkish Tennis Federation, Şafak Müderrisgil, and the Vice President of the Ukrainian Tennis Federation, Evgeniy Zukin.

Within the scope of the protocol, due to the extraordinary conditions in Ukraine, the TTF is expected to provide support for hosting international competitions like the Davis Cup in Türkiye on neutral grounds to ensure the continuation of tennis activities. Additionally, comprehensive exchange programs will be implemented to facilitate the sharing of methodology, athlete development strategies, and technical training between the coaches of the two countries. The cooperation is not limited to sports-related areas but also aims for the federations to support each other in matters such as crisis management, experience sharing, and logistical planning. Furthermore, special programs will be developed to psychologically and socially strengthen athletes, coaches, and support teams; these processes will be supported through joint workshops, consulting services, and support networks. The protocol allows young and talented Ukrainian athletes to benefit from Türkiye's high-standard facilities and access high-performance training environments, while also laying the groundwork for long-term infrastructure collaborations.

In her statement at the signing ceremony, the President of the Turkish Tennis Federation, Şafak Müderrisgil, said:

"As the Turkish Tennis Federation, we believe in the growth of tennis through the values of solidarity and friendship. This protocol we have signed with the Ukrainian Tennis Federation will not only contribute to the development of the sport but also to the resilience of athletes in difficult times. As always, Türkiye will stand by its friend, Ukraine, and will continue to build a strong bridge through tennis."

The Vice President of the Ukrainian Tennis Federation, Evgeniy Zukin, said the following about the protocol:

“The Ukrainian Tennis Federation is proud to sign this Memorandum of Understanding with the President of the Turkish Tennis Federation, Ms. Safak Muderresgil. Our cooperation has already proven its value when Türkiye generously supported us by hosting our Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup matches on neutral ground and providing vital operational assistance. This agreement marks the next step in strengthening our partnership, fostering development opportunities, and building even closer ties between our federations.”

With this agreement, valid until November 2028, Türkiye and Ukraine will put forward a vision in tennis that prioritizes not only sporting success but also ethical values in sports, grassroots participation, and digital transformation.
