A Racket for Every Child: “Let’s Play Tennis” Project Brings Hope
Launched under the leadership of the Turkish Tennis Federation in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Provincial Directorates of National Education, the “Let’s Play Tennis” project aims to promote sports and introduce tennis to children in 22 middle schools across 11 earthquake-affected provinces.
The aim of the project is to introduce children to tennis at an early age and to support their physical development through educational activities, bringing them together through the unifying power of sports. In this context, training sessions including educational games, basic sports skills, and fundamental motor skills for tennis have been launched in schools.
The project, which was launched at Hatay Günyazı Middle School, quickly reached thousands of children across 11 earthquake-affected provinces. Beyond being just a sports activity, it has emerged as a symbol of rebuilding and renewal.
Launched with the slogan “A Racket for Every Child”, the “Let’s Play Tennis” project aims to introduce thousands of students to tennis across all 81 provinces.
Officials from the Turkish Tennis Federation highlight that this project supports not only children’s physical development but also their psychological and social growth, stating their aim to promote tennis throughout Turkey.
